This month's update includes some encouraging figures from the HSPC concerning the Highlands Property Market. This month's update also provides some details on a First Time Buyers Event run by the HSPC, as well as providing an update on our VAT Free Estate Agency Services.

Look out for HSPC's new series of events, the first will be to help any first time buyers get started. So if you are thinking about buying come along for a chat and the HSPC's friendly, knowledgable team will help you get started. Property Centre Market Report

The Highlands Property market has got off to a flying start in 2014, with HSPC's February figures showing the number of sales up by 23% on 2013.

Not only are the number of sales on the increase but the number of properties coming onto the market for sale are too: with an increase in February's numbers of 26%.

The upturn in activity is also reflected in the number of people logging on and looking through - This February saw an increase of 10% in the number of overall website enquirers compared to February 2013 and there was a 6% increase in unique visitors to the site.

This upturn is also being reported by the other Solicitors Property Centres across Scotland and can be seen by increased activity on the group website.

Fred Kelly - HSPC Chairman commented -
'There is now real evidence that the market is starting to make a more stable recovery and although it is still early days it is encouraging. Solicitor firms are experiencing an upturn in activity and this is reflecting buyers confidence returning to the market. We are also pleased to see potential sellers taking the plunge as confidence on the selling side improves too. The figures from HSPC once again confirms sellers confidence in the Centre as being the market leader in the Highlands."

Quick Stats - February - Year on Year

The total number of houses sold by the HSPC in February 2014 compared with 2013 has seen an increase of 23%. The sold value for February has also increased by 20% over the period, from £11.422 million to £13.692 million.

The rolling quarterly average has decreased by 7% compared with February 2013. The average house price has decreased by 3% from £165,652 to £161,082.

The average house prices, based on sales are as follows:
Flat (£106,882); Bungalow (£175,373); Semi-Bungalow (£122,518); Villa (£264,125); Semi Villa (£170,928).

The HSPC has seen a 26% increase in property insertions, with 103 insertions in January 2014 compared with 82 in January 2013. There has also been a 10% increase in the number of enquiry visitors to the HSPC website, with 110,509 visitors in February 2014 compared to 100,353 in February 2013.
